Glen Lerner Nevada Accident Attorney Helps Permanently Injured Pahrump Varsity Football Player Reach New Goal

Alec Hornbuckle has faced many obstacles in his young adult life. One obstacle he faced was a torn meniscus injury which ended his high school football career and more recently, four flat tires that stood between him and a competitive pig showing at the Arizona National Livestock Fair.

With the help of Nevada Accident Attorney Glen Lerner and two other Pahrump businesses, Hornbuckle replaced the deflated tires in time to attend the fair where he won second place in his division.

The former Pahrump varsity football player switched gears after his injury to concentrate on his other life passion: raising and showing pigs.  In addition to his Arizona win, Hornbuckle has scored big showing pigs by successfully winning two first, one second and two third place awards at a Nevada County Fair.

Hornbuckle shared the following thank you note with Nevada Accident Attorney Glen Lerner.  His story was posted in the Pahrump Valley Times on February 06, 2013.

Northfield Ranch Therapy with Animals Thanks Glen

Recently, Glen Lerner Gives Back sponsored a night at the rodeo for special needs children. Chilren from Northfield Ranch Therapy with Animals were the recipients of VIP tickets to the rodeo held during the annual Pahrump, Nevada Fall Festival in late September. Today, the offices of Glen Lerner in Nevada received a package containing thank you letters, a note from the organization and photos of the children who benefitted from the donation during the rodeo.

Special Needs Children Pahrump

The tickets to the rodeo were donated as a part of Glen Lerner’s overall support of the Pahrump Fall Festival. As a new member of the Pahrump business community, the Injury Attorney feels that it is important to support events that benefit the Pahrump community.

According to the letter we received, the children of Northfield Ranch were very excited when they heard they would be attending the rodeo and even receiving special t-shirts to wear. They received special attention from rodeo staff such as clowns and cowboys and were very thankful for the memorable day.

Thanks Glen Lerner

Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys Proudly Donates to the Pahrump “Fill the Bucket” Back-to-School Supply Drive

The employees at the Pahrump, Nevada, law offices of Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys raised and donated $200 to benefit the Valley Electric Association’s (VEA) annual “Fill the Bucket” school supply drive on August 4, 2012.

The bucket truck used for the annual school drive is normally used to hoist VEA line crews up to repair and maintain overhead power lines.  Once a year during the school supply drive, they are used to collect much needed school supplies and lift some of the financial burdens of Pahrump school age children.

The Superintendent for the Nye County School District personally thanked the VEA, KNYE Radio and local businesses (such as Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys) for their efforts and contributions with the following released statement, “On behalf of the students, staff and administration of Nye County School District, I would like to personally thank the entire community, along with Valley Electric Association, Smith’s Food Chain and Drug, KNYE Radio and many of our businesses for their efforts and contributions to the recent ‘Fill the Bucket’ school supply drive. We have many students in need of help with back-to-school supplies who will benefit greatly…”

Fourth of July Safe Holiday Tips

Food, fun, family, friends and fireworks are what help make the Fourth of July a great summer holiday. However, one minute everyone could be laughing and the next stricken down by an avoidable tragedy. Here are a few suggestions to help ensure that your day ends on a happy note:

Responsible Drinking: Everyone knows that drinking and driving is not a good mix and could end up with you behind bars for a DUI charge. What they may not think of is that boating while under the influence and swimming while intoxicated is also not a good idea.

  • Arrange for a designated driver to take you to and from your Fourth of July activities.
  • Stay hydrated with water and take extra precautions around water and other recreational equipment / vehicles. If you don’t feel comfortable with the actions of another, leave and protect yourself from possible harm.

Water Smarts: Pool parties, water parks, lake and other recreational facilities are a great place to cool off and have some fun during hot summer days. It is unfortunate that some accidents, injuries and death could have been avoided.

  • Children and adults should not swim alone or unsupervised. A drowning can occur in less than five minutes.
  • Walkways can be very slippery around pools and other water recreational areas. Running or even walking can result in a slip-and-fall that could case accident injuries.
  • Safety gear such as proper flotation devices should be worn by adults and children while boating. A person can get thrown over the side of a boat or experience a leg cramp while swimming and a proper safety device could save their life.

Fire and Firework Safety: Fireworks burn thousands of degree hotter than an open fire. It is important to make sure that the children and adults in your group do not take undo risks that would result in an accident or burn injury.

  • Keep an eye on children around grills and open fires. Warn them about the harm they could experience if they get to close.
  • Keep an eye on children and adults around fireworks. If you are allowed to have personal fireworks, make sure that no one is pointing a fire work at another person and that they are being handled properly. Also, have plenty of water nearby to extinguish fireworks and have in case of an emergency.

If you or a loved one is injured in an accident over the Fourth of July weekend, or accused of a DUI offense, contact a Glen Lerner accident lawyer or DUI attorney in Las Vegas at (702) 877-1500 or toll free at 1 (800) GET-GLEN. We are here to help you 24 / 7.

FDA Study Shows Potential Risk of Increased Blood Clots Linked to NuvaRing Use

After the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a study in October 2011, they reported that NuvaRing users were at a 56% higher risk of experiencing a blood clot than women that used birth control pills that have been on the market for years. The FDA noted that the increased percentage of risk associated with NuvaRing use is potentially linked to the higher dosage of estrogen that women are exposed to further increasing the risk of blood clots being dislodged and blocking blood vessels. These risks are even higher in women that are over the age of 35 and that are smokers.

Possible Symptoms of NuvaRing Users

Women and family members of women that have used the NuvaRing have reported severe alleged injuries linked to this once-a-month internal vaginal contraceptive device. Injuries that they have reported, include:

  • Strokes
  • Pulmonary embolisms
  • Heart attacks
  • Deep vein thrombosis
  • Wrongful death

Other side effects that need to be brought to your medical care providers attention may include swelling of throat, lips, tongue or face; swelling in ankles, feet and hands; sudden pain in calf; hives; shortness of breath; severe headaches and yellowing of skin or eyes.

It is important to note that this is an incomplete list and is not to be viewed as medical advice. You should speak directly with your physician if you have any questions or concerns regarding this form of birth control.

Glen Lerner NuvaRing Lawyers Offer Free Claim Evaluation

Initial lawsuits have been initiated against the drug manufacturer Organan Usa, Inc. These claims being brought forward state that the drug maker and their associated parties did not properly disclose the possible dangers and side effects to potential users, physicians and other health care providers.

If you believe that you or a family member has suffered injury or harm from using this contraceptive ring, then contact our NuvaRing lawyers today at 1 (800) GET-GLEN. Or, fill out a case evaluation form online at 1800GetGlen.com.
